Interviewing
The part I love best about journalism is interviewing. Engaging in a conversation, often with a smile, combined with well-argued criticisms and curiosity.
Studenten Stemwijzer
I co-founded the interview series ‘Studenten Stemwijzer’, in which my team and I interviewed all leading party-candidates about the 2021 Dutch national elections.

Volt-leader Laurens Dassen
Interview during the ‘Studenten Stemwijzer’. Topics in the interview include Volt’s ideas about a European federation and the future of European integration.

Interviewing the Secretary of State, Sigrid Kaag. Topics in the interview include the effect of Covid on young adults, and the eradication of state-funded higher education.

Interviewing Farid Azarkan, then-head of DENK. Topics I asked questions about, include Article 5 of the Dutch constitution regarding freedom of education.
Room for Discussion
At Room for Discussion, I had the chance to interview renowned guests and talk with top-experts about their fields of expertise. In a team made up of many different academics, I learned something new every day- whether concerning anthropology, politics, or macroeconomics.

After a long persuasion, I interviewed the mayor of Amsterdam about the handling of the Covid-pandemic, students’ rights, and diversity in the city.

During Covid, my co-interviewer and I interviewed the chief economist of the IMF remotely about inequality, the fiscal policy response to Covid, and depoliticizing inequality.

Because of the pandemic we conducted a remote-interview with former CEO of Unilever Paul Polman. Topics we covered include corporate social responsibility, debates with short-term minded shareholders and realizing a sustainable supply chain.
